Featuring Main Event with “The Ultimate Fighter” Alumni Gabe “Godzilla” Ruediger
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE(ORANGE – Calif.)- After making their 3D debut this past December on satellite television, BAMMA USA will feature live cage fights at the Commerce Casino when they host Badbeat 4 on Friday, January 13, 2012. Badbeat 4 will be the first production of the New Year for the leader in Southern California mixed martial arts. The rapidly growing promotion is prepared for another non-stop year of fast action, hard-hitting and bone crushing combat sports entertainment.
The main event tilt for Badbeat 4 is headlined by former UFC® fighter Gabe “Godzilla” Ruediger against a tough Brandon Anderson in a catch weight of 150 pounds. Ruediger has won six of his past eight fights having submitted five of those opponents with neck chokes and forcing the referee to stop the sixth by way of punches.
Doors open at 6:00 PM, with preliminary fights beginning at 7:30 PM, and the professional bouts start at 9:00 PM. Tickets for this exciting event cost $50.00, $75.00, $100 and $650.00 for VIP of four seats. Bantamweights Jimmy Jones and Chris Beal will defend their unbeaten records and attempt to tarnish each other’s when they both make their fourth appearance inside the cage at Badbeat 4. Beal was faced with an unwanted opponent in 2009 when he fought cancer. After three terms of chemotherapy, two rounds of radiation and multiple surgeries, he made a victorious return to the cage defeating Evan Esguerra at Badbeat 3. Xtreme Couture trained Jones won his first fight by way of knockout in the first round, was forced to participate in a three round brawl in his second bout and was able to stop his third scrap in round two by way of body blows and punches.
Elite MMA’s Mike Jasper will return to the Badbeat cage in a 180 pound showdown against a bigger opponent in Miguel Cosio. Jasper made a name for himself inside the BAMMA USA cage when he defeated a tough Teshawn Walls by way of technical knockout. After taking Walls down, Jasper held him against the cage in half-guard and proceeded to deliver a surplus of elbows forcing the referee to intervene and stop the bout.
Local prospect Jack May will appear again in the BAMMA USA cage in a heavyweight tussle with New Mexico’s Jeremiah Martinez. Although Martinez dropped his last bout he is looking to duplicate the outcome of his fight in June with another knockout. Jack May is a 6’8” two hundred and fifty pound colossal known best for defeating his opponents before they even step inside the cage. At one point, May had multiple opponents skip out on fight night after meeting the heavyweight at weigh-ins. Now, the enormous athlete is undefeated with multiple knockouts and is looking to continue his streak when he collides with Martinez in January.
Long Beach native and Sgt. Vince Ortiz will square off with Joe Condon in a lightweight pairing as part of the Badbeat main card. Ortiz has tasted victory in seven of his past eleven fights and is another reappearing combatant to grace the Badbeat canvas. Condon is a natural grinder and will make his Badbeat MMA debut looking for his seventh win of his career.
Welterweights Ernest Chavez and Daniel McWilliams will also collide in the center of the cage on Friday the thirteenth while featherweights Eric Winston and Chris Bonillia, who will make his professional debut, will be the first fight of the main card.
